![]() Judging by the guns those look to be triples but for balance they may be twins also. I'm comfortable with what they're doing with this.Īs for the Dallas you are right on its source and such as for the Seattle it wasn't a Worcester prequel that is the Batch Fargo's they didn't look like the first two Fargo's due to those ships being built on the last 3 hulls of the Cleveland Class hull with the Forward Bridge and Aft bridge of the Fargo's. Although Des Moines goes back to 3 triples, she has the rapid fire auto loaders, so I can live with that. I have to think that from everything I'm reading that the tier IX Buffalo is really just a Baltimore with a fourth triple 8in/55cal turret. The tier IX Seattle appears to be based on design studies that led to USS Worcester, with 12 dual purpose 6in/47cal in 4 triple turrets, with no 5in/38cal as secondaries. The fly in the ointment is that W/G's drawing of Dallas has fore and aft 5"/38cal mounts on centerline, and that wasn't a feature until the St. + some hypothetical sourcing on where they come from.įurther research would point to this design coming from light cruiser studies of 1930 (Friedman, 1983), particularly Scheme 3. Sideview plans for the "Dallas" (T6) and "Seattle" (T9), the new paper ships in the upcoming US cruiser lines. In looking at Dallas I found this reddit thread:
